This week has seen us see the start of principal photography on the new project from Award-winning filmmaker Craig Douglas.
Filming started on the new thriller and was announced with a still from the film that was posted on social media. The photo was of what looked like a child’s body laid out in a woodland area.
The film is going to be set in Douglas’s home town of Middlesbrough and will focus around a string of murders in the town, in which the investigation and search for the killer is halted with the recent riots. The film will pick up five years on from the 2024 riots and will be based around DCI Robert Bullman, a character from another short film from Craig Douglas which is titled ‘Bull’.
Craig said there will be possibilities for local actors to be a part of the project and just keep an eye out on their social media posts.
The film will be titled ‘Cold By The River’ this being a homage to the River Tees, Middlesbrough’s iconic waters.
