British filmmaker Craig Douglas, known for The Woman in the Room and Fortunate Son has today signed his second dollar baby deal with Horror master and best selling author Stephen King.
This time round Douglas has received the rights for the earlier King short story ‘Cain Rose Up’. The story is about a student with mental health issues and pushed to the limits, who then takes it out on his school campus, firing a hunting rifle from his dormitory window.
Cain Rose Up is the second King story that will be adapted by Douglas, he earlier signed up to make The Woman in the Room in September 2019 but the project had numerous pauses in production due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Although he still holds the rights for ‘The Woman in The Room’ Craig has a couple of other films he’s working on and will return to that project in 2022.
The film ‘Cain Rose Up’ is due to start filming in the next couple of weeks and will be released in the new year, and will be entered in to numerous film festivals before it’s initial release.
